Welcome to invoicemodo. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our invoice generator service.

TL;DR: We don't store your invoice data on our servers. Everything is saved locally in your browser. We only collect anonymous analytics to improve the service.

Data We Collect

Invoice Data (Stored Locally)

All invoice data you create (business information, client details, line items, etc.) is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. We do not transmit, store, or have access to this data on our servers.

  • Business name, address, email, phone
  • Client information
  • Invoice details and line items
  • Custom logos (stored as base64 in your browser)
  • Invoice history (up to 50 invoices)

Analytics Data (Anonymous)

We use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible or PostHog) to understand how people use invoicemodo. This data is completely anonymous and includes:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Browser type and device information
  • Country/region (based on IP, not stored)
  • Feature usage (e.g., PDF downloads, template selection)

How We Use Your Data

Since your invoice data never leaves your browser, we cannot and do not use it for any purpose. The anonymous analytics data helps us:

  • Understand which features are most valuable
  • Identify and fix bugs
  • Improve the user experience
  • Make informed decisions about new features

Data Storage and Security

Your invoice data is stored in your browser's localStorage, which means:

  • You have full control: You can clear your data anytime by clearing your browser's local storage
  • Device-specific: Your invoices are only accessible on the device and browser where you created them
  • No cloud backup: We don't back up your data, so clearing browser data will permanently delete your invoices
  • Secure: Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly download a PDF or send an email (Pro feature)

Pro Plan and Email Sending

If you upgrade to invoicemodo Pro and use the email sending feature:

  • We use a third-party email service (Resend) to send invoices
  • We temporarily process your invoice data to generate and send the PDF
  • We do not store the invoice content after sending
  • We may store email delivery logs (recipient email, timestamp, delivery status) for up to 30 days for troubleshooting

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for essential functionality:

  • Session cookies: To maintain your Pro subscription status (if applicable)
  • Analytics cookies: Anonymous tracking for analytics (can be disabled)

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Vercel: Hosting and CDN
  • Plausible/PostHog: Privacy-friendly analytics
  • Stripe: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions
  • Resend: Email delivery (Pro feature only)

Each service has its own privacy policy. We've chosen providers that prioritize user privacy.

invoicemodo is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
